Reykjavik

First off, thank you to everyone for the kind words and inspiration. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a while now and I’m glad it’s finally off and running!

So far Iceland has lived up to its Mighty Ducks reputation of being the green (in more ways than one) island, as opposed to the ice filled island of Greenland. The salty smell of the ocean is everywhere with a nice tint of sulfer to top it off. The architecture here is, for the most part, very modern and most buildings seem to feature large sections of windows. I walked through the heart of Reykjavik last night and there really wasn’t much going on. There are only 300,000 people on the island, so it’s sparsely populated to begin with, and apparently Monday nights don’t help with the feeling of being in the island’s “big” city.

Anyway, off to the Blue Lagoon today and afterwards perhaps another tour around the city. Pictures to come tonight!
